These Pierberg valves are a tested and proven 3-port boost control solnoid, used widely in european cars. The model we sell is the newest and most recently updated version of this valve, offering cleaner and more reliable blow off valve control than even the earlier models with the square plug.

The solenoids are supplied with a patch loom, so they're a plug and play direct replacement for the factory blows off valve (BOV) solenoid for most Hyundai and Kia models, including:

  • Hyundai i30 SR and N-Line
  • Hyundai i30N
  • Hyundai Veloster Turbo
  • Kia Cerato GT
  • Kia Koup Turbo
  • Kia ProCeed GT

Why do you need a EBCS upgrade?

  • Better, cleaner and more responsive BOV control
  • Gets rid of check engine light from some aftermarket valves
  • Can sometimes fix the "double-vent" that valves do
  • Not as susceptible to overheating as stock or MAC valves

Cerato GT (BOV)

Mine came with a mounting tab riveted on; presumably for the Hyundai EBC solenoid?? Anyways, it still fits for the cerato BOV swap as well and I was able to use the tab to mount the solenoid through one of the OEM MAP sensor bolts on the intake piping. I had no issue getting the vacuum lines on or off and in fact reused most of the stock lines.

A bit finnicky but works great (i30N MY18)

Getting the stock hoses off was a massive challenge as you have to be careful not to snap the plastic ports.
I recommend a heatgun at 200C for ~2mins for each hose which makes it much easier to pull off. A hairdryer should work fine as well.

Finding the right angle to mount at was also a bit finnicky due to:
- The vacuum port clashing with the recirc hose
- The gray hose being slightly too short which can cause some sharp angles in the hose

The provided hoses inner diameter is a fair bit smaller than the stock hoses which makes it really hard to insert into the ports.
I had to heat up the ends with a heatgun at 200C for a few mins while a 5mm hex was inserted in the hose to try and increase the ID.
I ended up only using 1 of the provided hoses for the vacuum as the stock hose was too short.
I used the stock braided hose for the BOV.

Like most have said, I've upgraded to this with GFB Mach 2 bov.
While it doesn't add horse power, it definitely improves lag hence allows boost to kick in early in the rev range.
A definite improvement over the stock bov solenoid.
No brainer if you ask me.
