If you're looking for a clutch upgrade for your 1.6T 6-speed, whether it's a Veloster, Elantra, Ceed, or Koup, we have you covered.
First things first, you're going to want to remove the heavy dual mass flywheel and replace it with a billet aluminium flywheel. Not only does a lighter flywheel help to reduce rev hang between gear shifts, it will help the engine to spin up much faster, making heel-toe much easier. Not to mention that removing the 2-piece flywheel will remove a key point of failure from the drivetrain.
Our kits all include a billet flywheel and a sprung clutch for stages 1-3+ and solid centres for stage 4 and 5. If you want an unsprung core, or a kit to use with a replacement dual-mass flywheel, let us know, we can organise it.
These aren't generally kept in stock in Australia, and if we do keep stock, it will likely only be the Stage 2+
Below is the breakdown of the different stages.
Stage 1 - 400Nm
Features an integrally moulded carbon Kevlar-based, high performance organic lining that offers smooth engagement and excellent life. This lining has an integrally bonded steel backing for strength under high clamp loads and temperatures.
Stage 2 - 465Nm
Features segmented or full faced pure Kevlar disc with steel backing. This lining features excellent drivability like the stage 1, but offers slightly longer life and higher torque capacity.
Stage 2+ - 520Nm - Most Recommended
This is our most recommended option for a daily driven car. It offers the best of all options, near-stock engagement and driving feel, with drastically higher torque handing capabilities.
Features a multi-friction disc in a full faced configuration with carbon semi-metallic on one side and Kevlar on the other. Bridging the gap between stage 2 and stage 3, the 2+ offers drivability and engagement quality characteristic of the stage 2, but with a 15-20% higher torque capacity.
Stage 3 - 550Nm
Features a carbon semi-metallic 6 puck sprung or solid hub disc that has been the leading puck clutch in drivability, life and torque capacity. This unit is designed for street and race cars that require an aggressive engagement and high torque capacity.
Stage 3+ - 640Nm
The flagship stage for a high powered street or race car that requires a manageable and friendly engagement, the stage 3+ features a carbon semi-metallic full faced material that offers unparalleled life, friction co-efficient and drivability characteristics in one single package.
Stage 4 - 550Nm (Race Use)
This unit is a solid hub version of the stage 3. The hub is solid 8-rivet and the assembly is heat treated for strength and durability. It is available in a 3, 4 or 6 puck configuration. Use the 3 puck for the lightest option or the 6 puck for the smoothest engagement. The 4 puck is a good compromise for both. Street drivable in 6 puck configuration, but not street friendly due to the rigid hub. Best for drag racing, road racing, pulling, rallye and drift.
Stage 5 - 770Nm (Race Use)
Features a full-metallic disc with the highest possible friction co-efficient. Street drivable but not street-friendly. The hub is solid 12-rivet and the assembly is heat treated for strength and durability. Best for extreme street and drag racing.
