FAQ
Common questions
Will a tune (ECU remap) give me decent power gains?
Not really. On a naturally aspirated MPi engine like the Nu there's no boost to wind up, so a remap on factory hardware typically nets only a handful of kW and you won't feel it. We'd rather tell you that up front than sell you a flash that does little.
What's the best first mod for this car?
Honestly, the highest-value money goes into tyres, brake pads and suspension/dampers, not the engine. A good set of pads and a quality tyre transforms how the Cerato drives far more than any bolt-on intake or exhaust will.
Is there much aftermarket support for the BD Cerato 2.0?
It's thin. The Nu NA engine isn't an enthusiast platform, so expect basic intakes, cat-back exhausts and suspension rather than a deep catalogue. The GT/turbo Cerato gets most of the attention; the 2.0 is treated as the sensible commuter it is.
Are there any known weak points I should watch?
The G4NA is generally durable, but stick to its service intervals and keep an eye on oil level between changes, as some Nu engines can use a little oil. Otherwise it's a low-drama engine. Keep it maintained rather than modified and it'll go a long way.
