Remote tuning · The Cherry Tuned portal

Your tune portal, explained.

Cherry Tuned is our purpose-built platform for buying, managing and downloading EK1 tune files for your Hyundai or Kia. This guide walks you through every step — from sign-up to your first flashed tune.

The flow at a glance

Five steps to a tune.

Everything lives under one account — your orders, options, tune files, support chat and credit balance, all attached to your EK1 device and vehicle.

What it replaces

The old way meant buying a file on our store, filling out a Google form, emailing your ECU ID, and bouncing revisions over email — scattered across half a dozen places. The portal pulls all of that into one account, bound to your specific device and car.

Step by step

From sign-up to your first tune.

Sign up & verify your email
1

Create an account at cherrytuned.com and click the verification link in your inbox — you can't enter the customer area until your email is verified. If it doesn't arrive, check spam and use "Resend verification email".

Use your shop email. Credits match to your account by email — register with the same address you use to check out on cherrytuning.com.au.

Set up your EK1 device
2

In Account Settings, enter your device serial number and the last digits of your VIN. Every file is built bound to that device + car, so this is required before you can download anything. While you're there, fill in your vehicle profile (mods, settings) — it helps when you order.

Buy portal credits
3

Credits are how you pay inside the portal. Hit "Purchase Credits" to jump to the Tuning Portal Credits product on our store. Bigger packs have a bigger per-credit discount. Once your order completes, credits auto-sync to your account — no code to redeem.

Choose your tune
4

Two ways to spend credits: grab a ready-to-flash pre-written (OTS) tune from the catalogue, or open a custom request and choose your aggression level, pop level & length, and extras (idle, ghost cams, launch, fan, exhaust valve…). You'll see the credit total before submitting. A custom request automatically opens a support ticket.

Not sure what to pick? The tune options & FAQ page explains every option.

Download to your EK1
5

Your files live in "My Files". Hit download and the portal builds a .ekr file bound to your device + VIN in real time. Save it to your EK1's microSD card and flash it — see the EK1 tuning guide for the hardware steps.

Support, logs & revisions
6

Every custom tune opens a ticket automatically — upload your log files, ask questions, and request revisions right there. You'll get in-portal notifications when we reply, when credits change, and on tune progress.

Good to know

How credits & downloads work.

First download free

Your first download of any file is free. Re-downloading the same file costs 1 credit.

10-minute cooldown

There's a short cooldown between downloads of the same file — the portal tells you how long.

Bound to your device

Each file only works on the device serial + VIN it was built for. Swapped hardware? Open a ticket to migrate.

Credits don't expire

No timer on your balance. Credits are the only payment method inside the portal.

FAQ

Common questions.

My credits didn't arrive

Credits match by email address — make sure the email on your Cherry Tuning order is the same one you registered the portal with. If it still hasn't shown within ~30 minutes, open a support ticket with your order number.

The download button is greyed out or says wait

There's a 10-minute cooldown between downloads of the same file. The portal will tell you exactly how long to wait.

It says to complete my account settings

Your EK1 device hasn't been set up yet. Add your device serial number and the last digits of your VIN in Account Settings, then try again.

"Insufficient credit balance" when downloading

The first download of a file is free; further downloads cost 1 credit. Top up via "Purchase Credits".

A downloaded file won't work on my device

Each file is bound to the device serial + VIN on your account. Confirm both are correct and that you're loading onto the same physical device you registered. If you've swapped EK1 hardware, open a support ticket to migrate.

Do credits expire? Can I pay per tune?

Credits don't expire on a timer, and existing balances are always honoured. Credits are the only payment method inside the portal.

What about in-house dyno tunes?

In-house tunes at our Clyde workshop work the same as always — see the ultimate guide to custom tuning. The portal is specifically for tunes delivered remotely via EK1.
