I have had this intake for just over 6 months now and I have gathered a few pros and mcons about this intake. I don't know if I am just unlucky but here we go.
Pros:
Sound: If you are looking for something that sounds great this will certainly satisfy that. Going from no intake noise with the stock intake to actually being able to hear the turbo spool is great.
Looks: looks amazing in the engine bay. The black powder coated finish looks great.
Neutral:
Install: The intake was not hard to install, took about 20 minutes. Only nit pick about it is the recirculating hose is slightly kinked compared to stock but didn't find it to affect anything dramatically.
Heat soak: This comes with most metal intakes, I have a sensor for intake temperatures and most of the time it sits around 45⁰C, I put heat tape on it and it would sit around 38⁰C after that. I know the i20n runs pretty hot especially here in North Queensland so I put this in neutral because I know everything is gonna get heat soaked eventually, but I think all intakes even other brands need something to deal with heat soak a lil better than what we have at the moment.
Filter: Just like another person said, my filter did fall off a few times as well and yes I did tighten it down very well. Don't know of that is manufacture, filter, or installer problem but just going to note it here as well.
Cons:
Lid: The lid I received in my package looked great until I tried to put it on and only 2 of the 6 bolt holes lined up. Would also have been nice for the flat screws or rivets that are shown in the photo other than Alan key bolts that don't look that great.
Rubber ring: The rubber ring that is provided minimise the wear on the intake pipe does not work very well at all. Within 2 months the rubber was already worn through and started to wear into the intake pipe itself, I ended up having to put layers of electrical tape around it which has since held up.
Box: The box that the intake sits in does feel very sturdy, it is very easy to wiggle and move around even fully bolted up. Just a few days ago after a cruise I lifted my hood to show some people the intake and the front right bend in the box had snapped. I don't know if it just got to hot and snapped or if the intake lifting under acceleration somehow did it but it snapped. Very disappointing for an 800$ intake, this happening is what made me write this review. I am not sure if I am just unlucky or if others have experienced this as well.
Conclusion: This intake would be great but unfortunately the cons outweigh the pros I feel in this situation. I don't believe that the intake is 800$ worth if people are having the same issues as me.
