By far our most popular option for people looking for a quick and easy way to increase engine power, the RaceChip RS comes to you pre-loaded with the correct maps, specific the Hyundai i30 PD. The standard RaceChip has a rotary control on the front of the unit in order for one of the 6 internal maps to be selected to fit the engine's performance and characteristics.
The RaceChip RS increases the torque available at any given engine speed. Therefore, a higher gear can usually be selected, meaning less gear-changing is necessary in general, and fuel is used more efficiently. As a result, fuel consumption can be cut by up to 15%.
Additionally, there is an app control option available for the RaceChip RS, allowing you to use your smartphone to choose between 3 tuning modes from the RaceChip app; Efficiency for saving fuel in urban traffic, Sport for improved mid-range flexibility on open roads, Race for maximum performance. Very easy to install, easy to follow instructions and can notice the power gains after about 45-1hr of driving. Well worth it.
Made a huge difference on my NLine . I’ve got an aftermarket exhaust and cold air intake setup as well as the RaceChip RS , also an AEM Boost Gauge and AEM AFR gauge . I can tell you my peak boost is around 24 psi on the standard sport setting and AFR’s are pretty much where they need to be . Only issue is I haven’t been able to connect my iPhone to it to adjust the settings ... might try another phone and see if I can get it to work ?
Running this gem on my 2019 i30 NLine. Professional quality, just look at the Race Chip website and ask CTP about which model would suit your driving style. The RS works well. The improvement is significant. Make sure you think about supporting mods like the HKS plugs also sold by CTP and run Premium Unleaded. Recommended upgrade.
This was my first racechip that I've ever owned, I was sceptical about the mixed reviews you read about these sorts of things online but must say I am 100% satisfied with the huge change in torque. I really don't think it would be necessary to buy the GTS model as the price increase seems hardly worth the fraction of power you'd gain. But this is something new, can certainly say I don't feel the need to remap my ecu anymore.
