If you're looking to get the most out of your turbocharged car, it's common knowledge that replacing the downpipe (aka. dump pipe) is one of the first places you should look. Factory downpipes are usually made to fit within packaging and emissions constraints and are a good place to start when seeking extra power.
Our newly redesigned downpipe is available either cat-less or with a high-flow 100-cell Catalytic Converter. We no longer supply nor recommend using a secondary sensor spacer, as many of the later model cars have issues with fuel trim corrections when the downstream sensor is not receiving full flow. Please note, however, that if you don't get your car tuned, and don't run an O2 spacer for the second sensor, this downpipe will almost definitely throw a P0420 catalyst code.
The revised design bolts directly to the turbo, mimicking the factory two-piece downpipe however ever part of the flow path through the new downpipe is a drastic upgrade compared to stock. Thanks to a factory-sized outlet flange, this downpipe will happily mate up to any mid-pipe options, as all mid-pipes are ultimately designed to work primarily with the factory downpipe.
In our experience these downpipes have shown a peak power increase of as much as 10-15HP even without a tune, and obviously much more power is available when your car is tuned.
Regarding the cat-less option, externally they appear the same as the catted versions, giving the illusion of a cat still being installed, however the internals of the cat body are hollow. Cat-less downpipes are suitable for cars with a mid-pipe cat still installed or for off-road use.
