Hyundai i30 Sedan N-Line (CN7 2021+)

The warm-hatch sedan that flashes well

The CN7 N-Line runs the 1.6 Smartstream T-GDi and a 7-speed wet DCT - the same engine and gearbox family as plenty of hot Hyundai/Kia metal, just in a milder state of tune. It responds nicely to an ECU flash, but it's a genuine warm car, not the full-fat i30N: smaller turbo, torsion-beam rear (the multi-link is reserved for the i30 Sedan N), so set your expectations to "noticeably quicker daily" rather than "track weapon".

FAQ

Common questions

What is the best first upgrade?

Our Stage 1 (CT400) package rather than a tune alone. It is a race pipe (or a cat-back) to remove the restrictive secondary cat, one-step-colder spark plugs, an intake, and an intercooler resonator delete, finished with the tune. The secondary cat is the single biggest restriction on these 1.6Ts - we have measured gains from deleting it before a tune even goes on; the colder plugs keep cylinder temps in check as power climbs; the intake and resonator delete free up flow cheaply; and the tune ties it all together.

What sort of power gains can I expect?

With our Stage 1 (CT400) package you can generally expect a gain of around +25kW and +60Nm at the flywheel.

How much further can it go?

Stage 2 (CT450) adds a downpipe and intercooler for more again.
