An increasingly common upgrade for the pre-facelift i30N models is to bolt on the facelift car's turbocharger. With only minor modifications required to the intercooler hot-pipe (the compressor outlet is 23mm longer), or with the option of the replacement charge pipe (noting that the bracket doesn't line up on the new charge pipe), the facelift i30N turbocharger is drastically bigger than the early model cars, boasting an 11% bigger compressor and a 31% bigger turbine, potential power output from this turbo takes the i30N from a peak of around 200-210kW at the wheels up to 250-260kW (with supporting mods).
The high-flow option increases the compressor size up to 6mm larger than a G25-660, the main difference is that you're still running twin scroll, and the turbo is a direct bolt-on replacement. According to our re-flow shop, this high-flow turbo is rated for over 600HP, with responsiveness not drastically reduced from stock!
